COACH DJ MONTIGNY
Head A Team Freestyle Coach
DJ grew up in Dover, New Hampshire. His father, Don, and brother, Chris, and he started skiing at Sunday River on weekends when he was eight years old. While expecting to have an alpine career, DJ found a new love for mogul skiing on a trip to Steamboat with his brother and father when he was 13. At 14 DJ became a weekend competitor and joined the Sunday River Freestyle Team. DJ was a weekend program participant until he graduated high school at which point he decided to move to Sunday River to ski in their full time ski program. At the age of 21 he made the decision for a change and moved to Killington to ski for Matt Gnoza, Deb Newson and the Killington Freestyle Team. DJ competed out of Killington for 3 seasons and decided he wasn’t ready to leave the sport after a long career and began coaching for Killington Mountain School. This is his fourth season coaching. In DJ’s competitive career he won many regional events, competed internationally for four seasons on the Nor-Am Tour and qualified for six National Championships.
